πΉ Watchlist: From Knee Injury to Winning the Western States 100
Abby Hall is a passionate trail runner who has been involved in the sport since childhood. She has a strong connection to the ultra-running community.
In 2023, Abby suffered a significant knee injury: a fractured tibial plateau during a recovery run. I wonβt dive too much into the details, but it was bad. Her recovery process was challenging, as the video below shows.
Yet, little by little, she found a routine and healed, so much so that she won this yearβs Western States 100.
If anything, I hope this video and her journey show that an injury is not the end of the world. You can come back stronger.
And if you want more Abby, then check out this interview she did after the Western States 100, as well as her Instagram.

Mica Rivera Wood is an exceptionally speedy runner who performs well at varying distances but excels at the 5k and 10k.
Her husband is Adam Wood, whoβs also a runner. Theyβre a young, running-obsessed couple, both extremely fast and committed content creators. They have their separate accounts on YouTube and Instagram, as well as a joint Instagram account.
If you like to follow a runner who puts in the effort to become a pro (aiming to represent Peru internationally), then Mica should be on your list. Watching her race her lungs out is simply impressive. Give the video below a go! (At least the part about the race and post-race debrief.)

π Events & Races: The Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge
Okay, first, let me entice you with this picture:
Looks pretty sweet, right? A nice holiday destination?
Can you imagine yourself relaxing on a catamaran or on the βpink sandβ beaches after three days of racing?
βHold up. 3 days of racing?β
Yes, you read that correctly. This weekβs race feature for RunLetters is all about The Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge: a 1-Mile race on Friday, a 10K on Saturday, and a Half Marathon or Full Marathon on Sunday. You can sign up for individual races or take on the challenge for all three.
If you do decide to sign up for the challenge, youβll receive a special Finisherβs jacket and a fourth βChallenge Finisherβsβ medal. Extra cool: the medals are one-of-a-kind and designed by local artist, graphic designer, and runner Domico Watson.
This race challenge takes place mid-January (16β18, 2026), making it a perfect escape to shake off the winter blues.

π½ Gear & Gadgets: $100 Running Wardrobe Challenge
Running can be expensive. New shoes, socks, shorts, a watch⦠it adds up quickly. But what if you could buy a bunch of those items at a much lower price?

Tututu-du-tu-du-du⦠Yeah!
Can you buy running gear secondhand? And if so, what kind of running gear can you get?
I decided to put this thesis to the test and challenged myself to βrevampβ my running wardrobe with a budget of $100. Curious about what I was able to collect? Youβll have to watch the video!

Psssstβ¦ youβd help me out a lot if you watched the whole video. Even if youβre kinda busy, just let it run in the background! And hit subscribe to the channel + give the video a like while youβre at it π«Ά

β¨ Wild Card: Stung by a Bee πββοΈππ«¦π
Free lip flip!
No, but seriously. This one doesnβt need much more words. Watch it. Laugh a little. Then, hope this never happens to you π
Oh, and then follow Callie. Iβll feature her in the Social Spotlight someday soon, she deserves it.

π The Finish Line
I hope this edition of RunLetters made you as happy and excited as the cute sausage dog pups π₯Ή
