Happy Friday, runner! Hope youโve had a good week of training (or recovery) up til now. In todayโs edition of RunLetters: a shoe review by yours truly, the girl behind SULT, a 10k and half marathon in the UK, and more!
Before we dive in, Iโm curiousโฆ

๐น Watchlist: Behind the Mile World Record
Maybe you saw Josh Kerrโs attempt at breaking the Mile World Record live on TV. Maybe you didnโt. It doesnโt matter.
Watching the whole build-up to that moment is way more fun and engaging. To see what actually went into this achievement.
Everything was documented in the PROJECT 222 series on his YouTube account. Below is the final episode of that series, and if you watch only one of them, make it this one.
Thereโs no way youโre watching that finish without goosebumps all over your body.

If the electrolyte brand SULT has ever landed on your (Instagram) feed, youโre probably already familiar with Milly (Amelia Goldsmith), too.
Sheโs one of the co-founders of this edgy brand. Sheโs a runner. But sheโs also an author (โThings I Told My Notes Appโ). She initially blew up by sharing stories about โbeing chronically singleโ. Something she felt really awkward about, but lots of women resonated with it.
The crazy thing is it all started with a Bumble date. See the story in the carousel attached below. If youโre curious about when/where her running started, check out this post from January 2024.
Milly doesnโt post a lot about running, but when she does, itโs relatable and fun. Sheโll be participating in the New York Marathon on November 1st, so definitely expect some more running content over the next month or two!
Generally, I think sheโs a nice breeze of fresh, not-so-typical running content for your feed. Also give her SULT co-founder a follow, as Henry posts even more behind-the-scenes.

๐ Events & Races: Bristolโs 10K and Half
Last year in autumn, I ran the Cardiff half marathon. But since Cardiff didnโt offer me any direct flights, I flew into Bristol.
Talk about silver linings. Bristol turned out to be such a fun city. I absolutely loved it. Lots of art, plenty of great cafes and restaurants, and nice walks. Itโs also well-connected by train to many other places in the UK. Perfect to combine with a visit to London, Oxford, or Bath.
If that wasnโt reason enough to check out the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run, the reviews should be. People repeatedly say the atmosphere is great, itโs super well organised, and the crowd is amazing.
Thereโs a 10k and a half marathon, and it takes place on May 09, 2027. Thatโs still far out, I know. But prices will go up, and the race always sells out.

๐ฝ Gear & Gadgets: 361 Kairos 4
A little while ago, 361 Europe sent me a pair of their Kairos 4. Iโve been waiting to make a review video, as I always want to run plenty of miles in a new pair of shoes first.
A shoe can change so much between the first 10 kilometres and the first 100. Besides that, you can only talk about a shoeโs durability after a while.
That โwhileโ has arrived. Iโve worn these shoes for quite a bit now, and my verdict is that itโs a really good daily trainer. Comfortable, plush, not too heavy. Similar in feel to my ASICS Novablast 5, but with more grip, slightly lighter, and 1mm less drop.
The fit? True to size.
Talking about durability, so far they show barely any sign of wear. I will report back after ~500km to tell you how the foam holds up after more mileage.

โจ Wild Card: Why You Should Date A Runner
I promise this one will make you smile. Youโll probably want to forward it. And hey, while youโre at it, let him know RunLetters sent you this.

๐ The Finish Line
Thatโs it for another edition of RunLetters! I hope it brought you some inspiration, joy, or at least a smile.
Hereโs to a great weekend ahead โ๏ธ
