📹 Watchlist: A Guide To Running

Before you scroll past this because you’re thinking “I am not a beginner!”, give me a sec. This video from Shervin is packed with, in my opinion, good tips for many levels. I mean, let’s be honest, did you warm up for your last run? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you really sticking to your training plan? Are you fueling well?

Plenty of good tips in this video and helpful reminders for all of us.

From a coaching perspective, I do think Shervin is missing out on two big things here: strength and mobility. So please, make sure to have those two also in your training plan! 😉

📲 Social Spotlight: Daniel Moves Marathon Time

Most of you will know Daniel (if you know him) as the man behind the camera (and edits) and the husband of Phily Bowden.

But the truth is, Daniel himself is worth a follow too. Especially now that he’s started marathon training. Daniel is relatable. Down to earth. Funny (we welcome memes mid-video. The more, the better).

He’s no elite runner, but of course, he is being coached by Phily herself. So his training plan is solid 😉

Not many more words are needed. If you enjoy a classic vlog-style video and like to tag along on Daniel’s progress (as he says himself, “an average runner”), then this is for you.

🗓 Events & Races: Sierra Leone Marathon

The Sierra Leone Marathon takes place in and around Freetown (Sierra Leone is in West Africa) in October. It’s hot, humid, and the roads are pretty tough. But this race is not about chasing a PB.

This race supports Street Child, a charity that helps children get access to education in Sierra Leone and beyond. When you sign up, you do not just run. You fundraise, meet local communities, and see a country most runners will never race in (from a unique perspective!).

You can choose between distances ranging from a full marathon to shorter options.

If you’ve ever wanted to run a race with a greater purpose, this one is worth a look. When you sign up, you pick a package. These packages cover your accommodation, transport, race costs, and food. And you’ll also have to commit to fundraising for Street Child (100% of proceeds go to the charity, no profits are taken).

Dates: Wednesday 21st – Monday 26th October 2026

If you are based in the UK and you’re interested, I’ve got something interesting for you: a giveaway they are currently running (closes February 22nd). You can find out more here.

🎽 Gear & Gadgets: ACG Ultrafly

If your social feed is anything like mine, it may have been taken over by “Nike ACG” lately. The marketing is… bold. Wild. Kinda funny. And in a way, nostalgic (I guess it’s the grainy footage).

“Extremely grippy”

“Super responsive”

ACG stands for “All Conditions Gear”. And the one item taking the world by storm? The ACG Ultrafly Trail.

These are competitive trail shoes. They’ve got a full-length carbon fiber plate (without being too stiff) and a Vibram® Megagrip outsole. The first reviews? Very positive. The price tag? A bit… spenny. I mean, $260 (€250/£229) is not exactly what I’d call a bargain.

But for some, they might be worth it. If trail racing is your thing, I’d see if you can try them sometime. What do you all think?
