Hellooo runner! πŸ‘‹ This week’s edition of RunLetters has everything from park runs to ultra-marathons, some great videos, and a 10% discount on nutrition! πŸ’™

Let’s run with it ‡️

πŸ“Ή Watchlist: The Hardest Geezer Runs a Park Run?

Never heard of Russ Cook? Then you may want to check out edition #13 of RunLetters.

He’s the guy who ran the length of Africa, as well as New Zealand. He’s anything but your typical β€œrunning influencer”. Genuine, fast, funny, and a pretty dang good runner. Yet, when he’s seated next to the fastest 5k Brit, he is so, so humble.

But can this crazy ultra runner also win at a 5k? Let’s see… 🍿

πŸ“² Social Spotlight: 50 Marathons And A Huge Smile

If there’s one person who just seems to radiate β€œI LOVE RUNNING!β€œ on Instagram, it’d be Jimmy Christie.

He’s a seasoned runner who has completed 50(!) marathons and even gone all the way up to a 100-mile ultramarathon. Jimmy’s also a coach, pacer, and run club leader (he recently paced the Chicago Marathon, helping the 3:20 group hit their goals).

His running journey started after reading Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins, a book that sparked his β€œCapable of More” mindset. That phrase has since become his mission: to inspire others to realize they’re capable of more, too.

On Instagram, his feed is full of smiles, good vibes, and genuine energy. He shares tips, motivation, and behind-the-scenes moments from races of all sizes, as well as snippets of his coaching and run club life. He’s the kind of creator who’s been where most runners have been": beginner, marathoner, ultra-runner, and uses that experience to make his content relatable to every stage of the journey.

He seems like such a genuine and kind person who helps to consistently ignite the love of running in others. Worth a follow!

πŸ—“ Events & Races: One Run, Three Countries

Ever considered running in three countries in one day?

Probably not πŸ˜‚ But you can!

On the first day of February 2026, the Drielandenpunt Trail takes place. This race, which offers several distances (10K, 23K, 32K, and 50K), takes you across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, all in one go.

You can even make a whole weekend out of it by joining the run or walk on Saturday. An extra athletic weekend away!

Unfortunately, the starting point isn’t easy to reach by public transport, so it’s best to travel to one of the nearby cities (Aachen in Germany, Maastricht in the Netherlands, or LiΓ¨ge in Belgium) and then take a taxi or rent a car. Or, of course, carpool with other runners!

It’s a seriously cool race, and definitely one for your bucket list.

P.S. The website’s only available in Dutch and French - you can easily translate it though with Google using Google Chrome!

🎽 Gear & Gadgets: Ginger-Based Energy ⚑️

Many runners struggle with gels (and fuelling during their runs in general). Some brands focus on solving this. One of those brands is Active Root.

Active Root uses natural root ginger in all their nutrition products. Ginger is scientifically proven to help prevent bloating, nausea, and stomach discomfort during exercise. They also don’t use any artificial sweeteners.

They’ve got gels, energy chews, gel mixes (so. you can put them into your own soft flasks = less waste!), electrolytes, and more. If you’re interested, we recommend going for one of their bundles.

✨ Wild Card: Come Run Berlin With Us

In September, I had the incredible opportunity and pleasure of accompanying Lydia Oldham on her trip to Berlin, where she ran the Berlin Marathon twice. First at night (the course in reverse), and then again during the day.

It’s a story of love for running, and β€œjust for the fun of it”.

🏁 The Finish Line

Another finish line! Thank you for reading all the way through. It means a lot to me.
